It’s that time of year again. That time when we start eagerly anticipating our favourite TV shows returning. Read to whet our appetites are The CW who have today unveiled the first poster for season 2 of ‘Supergirl’.
Starring Melissa Benoist the show has famously become the first in year to move networks between seasons. Production on ‘Supergirl’ has also moved from California to Vancouver joining sister shows ‘The Flash’, ‘Arrow’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’.
The second season is adding recurring roles for Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor sister of Lex, the original Wonder Woman herself Lynda Carter as the President of the United States, and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
The previously released synopsis for season 2 reads:
In Season One, ‘Supergirl’ soared fighting crime and battling various villains, chief among them two Khryptonians who were intent on destroying earth, but she has yet to find that same empowerment as Kara Danvers. Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.
The series also stars Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw. Recurring stars include Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
‘Supergirl’ returns Monday, October 10th at 8/7c on The CW.
