‘Star Trek Beyond’ poster artwork

Due to hit cinemas next week ‘Star Trek Beyond’ is currently riding a wave of positive press. After the sad passing of actor Anton Yelchin (Chekov) things were looking sad for the franchise 50th anniversary celebrations. Early in production the film was dogged by rumours of creative issues which saw original director Roberto Orci depart the project taking his script with him.

The final product directed by Justin Lin and written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung has now been screen for the press to great success. Social media is now buzzing with positive reviews with some claiming ‘Beyond’ reclaims the magic of the original series.

Celebrating their success Paramount Pictures has released a pair of featurettes to promote the film. The first featuring villain Krall played by Idris Elba and a second featuring new character Jaylah played by Sofia Boutella.

Justin Lin directs ‘Star Trek Beyond’ with a script written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. The film stars Chris Pine as Captain James T Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, John Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Karl Urban as Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy and Simon Pegg as Scotty. The film was also start Idris Elba as Krall, Sofia Boutella as Jaylah and Deep Roy as Keenser. ‘Star Trek Beyond’ is produced by J.J. Abrams and features a score by Michael Giacchino.
