One of the most talked about stories in the ‘X-Men’ universe this year has been the loss of Anna Paquin’s Rogue from this years ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. First glimpsed in the trailer and part of the early promo it was announced before the films release that scenes featuring Rogue had been cut from the film.
In interviews the creative team behind the film calmed the waters by claiming her scenes were part of sub-plot which would have little effect on the main story by not appearing in the theatrical cut of the film but of course that hasn’t stopped fans from clamouring to see these scenes.
Initially it was expected that these scenes would form part of the deleted scenes that we know appear on the home video release with optional commentary by director Bryan Singer. But now word has spread this week that an extended cut of the film may make its way in to theatres sometime in 2015.
Take the news f a theatrical release with a pinch of salt as the only concrete news we have comes from a tweet by 20th Century Fox EVP James Finn which states that an extended cut is coming. Here’s the tweet:
@ConnorBlackburn @DOFPXmen theatrical. Extended is coming next year.

For now this could be a double-dip home video release or the film could indeed be returning to theatres. Either way we’ll be watching!
