Wednesday lunch time means it’s time to take a look at this week’s UK Official Film Chart. Following another impressive week of sales, Avatar: The Way of Water swims into a second week at the top of the Official Film Chart.
Holding back former chart-toppers Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical (2) and Elvis (3) once again, the long-awaited sequel outsells the rest of the Top 10 combined to enjoy its second week at Number 1.
Following the easter break, Hop bounces up 2 places to Number 4, and former Number 1 Top Gun: Maverick holds strong at Number 5.
M3GAN drops two places to Number 6 in its second week on chart, though it still enjoys its place in the Top 10 on digital downloads only. Thanks to the announcement of the upcoming HBO TV series, the original Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone jumps nine places to Number 7, while Puss in Boots: The Last Wish climbs two, also holding its place on digital downloads only.
Rom-Com Ticket To Paradise rockets back into the Top 10 this week, soaring 19 places to Number 9. Starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Sean Lynch, the 2022 film previously peaked at Number 5. Finally, Dune ascends four places to Number 10 to return to the countdown for the first time since August 2022.
