Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #4 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Ryan Parrott, illustrated by Dan Mora, coloured by Raúl Angulo and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Issue #4 is available 29th March 2023 either directly from BOOM! Studios online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

The penultimate issue heats up as the Mutant Rangers are in dire straits, but a familiar mentor brings new allies to turn the tide! But the battle also rages in Dimension X, where the hero and villain roles continue to blur as they fight old foes and unfamiliar monsters. The Mutant Rangers shouldn’t celebrate too soon though, as their worst enemy arrives in a monstrous new form!

    Review

In this penultimate issue we see the Rangers and Turtles take the battle to Mistress Vile and Krang, it’s strange for me seeing the Turtles working together with Shredder as they work through Dimension X you can’t help but think this isn’t going to end well but so far Shredder’s intentions seem legit as in a roundabout sort of way his end goal is the same as the Turtles and Rangers to take down this super villain tag team. Both teams of heroes are beginning to excel in their new roles with the Rangers beginning to adapt to their new mutant forms, but what can the Turtles do to give themselves the upper hand, something they stumble upon may well turn the tide.

As Mistress Vile and Krang get stronger and the threat of Earth gets more and more under pressure the heroes begin to become overwhelmed, the Rangers must dig deep to defeat the Rock putty onslaught and the Turtles must trust their deadliest foe in the most unlikely of team ups ever, this is the biggest test of trust and inner strength ever but the appearance of a familiar for in their most powerful for could really shake things up.

Being a big fan of Ryan Parrott I kind of knew what to expect going into this issue and I wasn’t disappointed, the story is action packed but the story is more multi-dimensonal and runs deep throughout the book, each page is full of emotion that has the reader pinned to the book, an intense back and forth cat and mouse battle that may well be about to have the biggest story twist yet.

So far I have loved the illustrations of this series, this has been some of Dan Mora’s best work, each page elevates the story with intense detail and bold images that really makes each page pop. The whole series has been an artistic masterpiece and it’s a pleasure to just be able to witness this.

    Verdict

One of if not the best comic series out at the moment, with a creative team this strong you can’t fail to win. Unfortunately all good things come to an end with the next issue looking to be one of the best finales every am looking forward to that one
