London’s Park Row Announces Grief Encounter as Official Charity Partner

London’s Park Row restaurant has announced a new official charity partner, Grief Encounter. Sometimes super heroes are made, not born, and superpowers can be found in the most mysterious of places. In Gotham City, there are Super Heroes, (and Super Villains), who have been transformed by tragedy into something greater. Having experienced the death of someone close, their grief has given them a power – not unlike Bruce Wayne, after experiencing the tragic death of his parents as a child, now fights to clean up Gotham City in their memory.

Park Row and James Bulmer are proud to announce our official charity partnership with UK children’s bereavement charity, Grief Encounter, supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or someone close. To celebrate the launch of the partnership, we have introduced the Gotham City’s Saviour to our menu, and for every dish sold we will donate £1 to Grief Encounter.

Founded by Dr Shelley Gilbert MBE over 15 years ago, Grief Encounter’s mission is to give every bereaved child and young person access to the best possible professional support. Their unique free, face-face and online services help with the confusion, fear, loneliness and pain of grief, providing a lifeline to children and young people, when they need it most.

    They do this through:

    • One-to-one counselling
    • Group workshops
    • Music, art and drama therapy
    • Residentials and Family Fun Days
    • Grief Relief Kits with resources for children and their families
    • Grieftalk – A National, free and confidential helpline, offering web chat service too
    • Bespoke support for schools, universities and colleges
    • A dedicated Trauma Team for support following a sudden or traumatic bereavement.
    • Accredited training courses and webinars for professionals
    • Award-winning resources including the bestselling Grief Encounter Workbook and Journal
