Who’s ready for a Zombie movie with a twist? Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which is heading to Netflix, is a combination of two beloved genres: A Zombie movie and a Heist movie. What makes it a heist movie, you ask? Well, a Las Vegas casino is the target. There you have it. What more could you possibly want? The director, Snyder himself, has called it a “full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie”. While we patiently wait, Snyder has finally given us our first look at the Zombie-heist extravaganza.

You can check out the gallery below:

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Netflix zombie movie has a nice surprise that no one will see coming. On top of being a movie full of zombie mayhem, the director has said that this film has a lot of warmth and hearts.

“So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters.”

Army of the Dead takes us to a bleak reality where a deadly virus has been released from Area 51. The government has managed to contain it by building a wall surrounding Vegas (Sin City). Despite Vegas being overrun by zombies, the casino is a perfect target for a heist. Why? Well, no one is watching the money. Luckily there is a group of brave and stupid mercenaries ready to risk it all.

Netflix were apparently incredibly enthusiastic when Snyder brought the idea to them. In fact, Snyder revealed that they wanted Snyder to start immediately and even funded an animated prequel series which will dive into the origin of the plague.

On top of that, Snyder has said that audiences can expect the Romero-type zombie and “another level of zombie”. We’re not entirely sure what that means but we can’t wait. Let us know your thoughts in the comments and we’ll be sure to keep you posted with an official release date.

Army of the Dead is set to drop on Netflix sometime in 2021.
