Though we have to wait a little longer to see Michael Morbius show up on the big screen for the first time. Marvel Comics has some new content to prepare Morbius fans for the big release.
Marvel has announced details on a new Morbius one-shot, subtitled “Bond of Blood,” which will debut its first issue in February 2021.
Emil Nikos was Michael Morbius’ research partner…until bloodlust made Emil the first victim to Morbius’ vampiric urges. Now, Emil’s son is dying from a new rare blood disease and only Morbius can save him…but at what cost?
Coming in February 2021, the Living Vampire faces a ghost from his past in Morbius: Bond of Blood #1!
Here’s a look at the main cover for the issue, artwork is by Giuseppe Camuncoli.
The new one-shot is written by Ralph Macchio with art by Tom Reilly, and the story inside will prepare readers for the character’s future while serving as the perfect introduction for new mentees of Michael Morbius’ madness.
“I’m super excited to dip into the spookier side of the Marvel Universe with Ralph Macchio,” notes Reilly. “I have a soft spot for Morbius, in no small part due to the skill with which Gil Kane first brought him to life in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man. I’ll do my best to channel some of his magic to make this book a fun read!”
“For those looking to sink their teeth into who Morbius the Living Vampire is,” adds series editor Danny Khazem, “Ralph and Tom are truly embodying the energies from his origin to bring you a tale of intrigue and despair! This team is going to show why Morbius is such a unique and horrifying character in the Mighty Marvel Manner!”
