Going in to its second weekend at the North American box office Aquaman is riding high on a tide of success. See what we did there?
With the DC Films movie set to make around $54M in its second weekend the global box office is giving Warner Bros. reason to celebrate. As of writing the movie is currently sitting at $629.4M worldwide.
That’s following a $137.2M first week gross in North America. The movie has continued to pull in big numbers following that huge $22M Christmas Day haul. It’s first week now eclipses that of last years Justice League which pulled in $130.8M in its first week.
By the end of the weekend Aquaman will have easily crossed $700M. Going in to 2019 the movie should easily be over $750M and closing in on the $800M mark.
The question still remains as to whether the movie will be able to make $1 billion before it leaves cinemas.

The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
