KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA have announced that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the direct sequel to their dark Three Kingdoms action RPG, will launch worldwide on 4th March 2027 across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox on PC, Steam, and as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
Joining the latest trailer, they have also launched a limited-time Alpha Demo running through 30th September 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox on PC, and Steam. The demo offers an early look at character creation, three-player online multiplayer, and the open battlefield of Changban, where players can team up with Liu Bei’s forces to repel Cao Cao’s encroaching army. Those who complete the slice of gameplay will earn the “Fledgling Phoenix Helmet” cosmetic bonus for the full game.

Set in China in 208 AD following the events of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the story begins after Cao Cao’s troops destroy the home village of the protagonist and their companion, Pang Tong, unleashing roaming demons across the realm during the invasion of Jing Province. Driven by vengeance, the protagonist supports Liu Bei before joining Sun Quan in Jiangdong to hatch a decisive plan against Cao Cao ahead of the legendary confrontation at the Red Cliffs.
The sequel retains the deflect-heavy, high-speed martial arts combat of its predecessor while introducing evolved systems such as “Insight Skills”. These new manoeuvres allow fighters to evade strikes, leverage dynamic terrain for counterattacks, and reclaim momentum when heavily outnumbered. Players will also encounter larger, dynamic open fields based on iconic historical engagements, featuring hidden fortresses, valleys, morale mechanics, and the ability to recruit defeated enemy officers to weaken opposing lines.

Digital pre-orders are now live, offering the “Creator Goddess Garb” set as a pre-order bonus and the “Harvest God Armor Set” as an early purchase bonus for all launch copies.
A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available, bundling the base game with a Season Pass, the “Creator God Armor Set”, a digital artbook, a mini soundtrack, and a cosmetic “Shitieshou Hat”.
