This week, Paramount+ has given fans a first look at Treasure Island, an upcoming six-part adventure drama series from Playground, starring Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Avengers: Doomsday) as Bess Hawkins, David Oyelowo (Silo, Selma) as Long John Silver, Tom Sweet (Great Expectations) as Jim Hawkins, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, Day of the Fight) as Aaron Graham and Tomer Capone (The Boys, Fauda) as Billy Bones.
The series will premiere on 12th October exclusively on Paramount+ in the UK & Ireland and on 11th October on MGM+ in the U.S., with new episodes dropping weekly through to 16th November and 15th November respectively. FIFTH SEASON is handling global distribution outside these territories.
When young Jim Hawkins and his fiercely determined mother Bess come into possession of Captain Flint’s legendary treasure map, they are swept into a brutal race for unimaginable riches. Crossing the Atlantic aboard the Hispaniola, Jim enters a world of shifting loyalties, ruthless ambition and deadly secrets, where trust can be as dangerous as betrayal. At the heart of the expedition is Long John Silver, a charismatic and deeply complex survivor whose ambitions challenge every certainty Jim holds. Through treacherous landscapes and escalating conflict, the hunt for treasure becomes a battle between loyalty and ambition that will change them forever.

Treasure Island is a Paramount+ Original Series in association with MGM+ and FIFTH SEASON, produced by the BAFTA and Golden Globe winning Playground. It has been created for television by Robert Murphy (Vera, Shetland) and it is directed by Jeremy Lovering (Slow Horses, The One), William McGregor (The Buccaneers, Lockwood & Co., His Dark Materials) and Paul Walker (Shameless, Riviera, Hunting Alice Bell) with Mark Hedges serving as producer.
The six-part series was commissioned for Paramount+ by Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer, UK, and Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor, for Paramount+ UK & Ireland. Michael Wright, global head of MGM+, and Alec Strum, original programming executive, oversee production for MGM+, while David Stern, Scott Huff andColin Callender executive produce on behalf of Playground, Daniel Gratton, Robert Murphy and Jeremy Lovering also serve as executive producers.
