Horror titan James Wan and director Rob Savage are teaming up to ensure you never look at your mother the same way again. The first teaser trailer for Other Mommy has officially arrived, promising a terrifying dive into psychological dread about a child and their trust in their parents.

Leading the nightmare is Academy Award® winner Jessica Chastain (It Chapter Two, The Eyes of Tammy Faye), taking on dual roles. Chastain stars as young Bela’s real mother and the titular “Other Mommy”—a sinister, malevolent entity taking up residence in the family home that looks exactly like her.
Joining Chastain in this twisted family dynamic is Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) as “Daddo,” Bela’s bewildered father and Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid) as young Bela, the child caught in the entity’s grip.
The film also boasts a talented supporting cast, featuring Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession), and screen legend Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark).
Based on Josh Malerman’s bestselling novel Incidents Around the House, the story explores the unsettlingly intimate bond between a young girl and “Other Mommy,” a entity lurking in the closets and corners of her home. The teaser leans heavily into the book’s chilling hallmark phrase:
“Can I go inside your heart?”
With Savage’s knack for claustrophobic tension, Elston’s sharp narrative writing, and Wan’s signature jump-scares, Other Mommy is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated horror releases of the year.

Other Mommy will be released in the United States on October 9, 2026 and October 8th in the UK.
