This week X-Men ’97 returned strong with a three-episode second season premiere on Disney+. The three episodes cover the past, present and future of the X-Men’s world as Apocalypse sets a plan in motion to destroy mutant-kind. In celebration Marvel Animation has debuted a huge gallery of still images from each episode that we’re diving into today.
First up is episode one “Days of Past Future” in which Forge and Bishop launch an ambitious plan to rescue the X-Men, who have been scattered across time.

Next up is “A Force to be Reckoned With”. After E-Day, a secret paramilitary force emerges to try and fill the void left by the X-Men.
Finally let’s take a look at episode, “Rise of Apocalypse: Part 1” as the plan to rescue the team from Ancient Egypt is turned upside down by an unexpected visitor.
In our five star review of the premiere Michael said “Let’s just say, the wait was worth it. X-Men ’97 returns with a season premiere that’s every bit as bold, layered, and lore-rich as you’d hope for. Apocalypse makes for a genuinely menacing threat, and the time-jumping structure within the first 3 episodes gives the story real weight without losing its sense of fun. A brilliant, confident start to the season.”
The cast of X-Men ‘97 season 2 includes Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and George Buza as Beast.
The series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Julia Lewald, Eric Lewald, Larry Houston, and Beau DeMayo. The supervising producer is Jake Castorena. Episodes written by JB Ballard, Beau DeMayo, Bailey Moore, Antony Sellitti, Brian Ford Sullivan, and Mariah Wilson. The episodic directors are Emmett Yonemura and Chase Conley.
