Vertigo Releasing and partners at Visions Home Video has announced plans for the UK home video release of acclaimed J-horror Exit 8. The film will release on digital platforms on June 8, 2026 before arriving on Blu-ray on June 29, 2026.
A man trapped in an endless sterile subway passageway sets out to find EXIT 8. The rules of his quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don’t, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. But even a single oversight will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and escape this infinite corridor?
The film is based on the global hit horror video game created by Kotake Create and had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. In case you missed it at the cinema, check out the official trailer in the player below:
In our three-and-a-half star review of the film Aaron says “Exit 8 is a truly unsettling ride that stays incredibly faithful to its source material from start to finish. There are a few occasions where it struggles to keep itself going whilst sticking to its simple premise, but there’s no denying that this is a film that succeeds more than it fails.”
Directed by Genki Kawamura co-creator with Kore-Eda Hirokazu of Netflix original series The Makanai, and producer of international hits Your Name and Suzume, directed by Makoto Shinkai; Mirai and Belle, directed by Mamoru Hosoda; and Monster directed by Kore-Eda Hirokazu.
