Sony Pictures has unleashed a new behind-the-scenes look and two new posters for visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger’s new take on Resident Evil. The film is currently set to debut in cinemas across the UK and Ireland in autumn 2026.
In an all-new story, Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
First up, Cregger walks us through his approach to the survival horror genre and paying homage to the franchise long history in games in a new behind-the-scenes vignette which is also packed with footage from the film itself.

The studio has today also debuted two new posters for the film, both focussing on the incredible isolation which Abrams’ character will face throughout the film. They also show the cool (pardon the pun) contrast between the snowy countryside landscape and the deserted post-apocalyptic cityscape seen in the film’s first trailer.
Take a look at both posters below:
Written by Zach Cregger & Shay Hatten, Resident Evil stars Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser.
