Godzilla and Kong may have beaten the Skar King, but they’ll soon have another challenge to face together. With the chaotic duo proving that the MonsterVerse is well and truly thriving, Lgendary are wasting no time in preparing for the next theatrical release. While director Adam Wingard steps away to direct a movie with A24, I Am Your Mother filmmaker Grand Sputore will be taking the mantle of Director for this next monstrous extravaganza.
I Am Your Mother was Sputore’s debut feature. The film premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to incredibly strong reviews, so it’ll be interesting to see how he deals with divas like Godzilla and Kong.
As of now, we don’t know anything about this new MonsterVerse movie. Wingard previously stated that his 3rd movie would have focused on Godzilla rather than Kong, so it’s hard to determine whether that plan would flourish under new management. Regardless, we’re incredibly excited to see what else the MonsterVerse has in store for us.
