Blaze UFO Week Unearths That Half of Brits Convinced Aliens Live Among Us

A recent survey has revealed that almost half of Brits believe that aliens have already visited planet Earth and live among us.

A 2021 survey conducted around the likelihood of intelligent life visiting Planet Earth showcased that 33 per cent of adults believed it was likely that aliens are already living among us, and new survey results revealed today show that this figure has jumped by 15 per cent. Now, just under HALF (48 percent) of those polled believe that humans are not the only form of intelligent life inhabiting Earth.

The research commissioned via OnePoll found that 31 percent believe aliens and UFOs are real, with and 17 percent of the public admitting to reporting a UFO or alien sighting to the police. 18 percent think Earth will one day experience a space invasion.

Check out this cool interactive info-graphic based on the results of a survey about what the public thinks aliens might look like:

The ET is seen sporting two heads, gills, with webbed feet and green tufts of hair. They would stand at a modest 5ft tall with three eyes, three arms and three hidden ears. In addition to its physical characteristics, four in 10 (43 per cent) reckon aliens would converse in their own language and 22 per cent believe they’d have 360-degree vision.

International UFO researcher Philip Mantle, who has teamed with BLAZE, which is airing a series of documentaries as part of UFO week, said: “When thinking about what extraterrestrial life may look like, we just have to look at the diversity of life here on Earth to see how strange things can get.

“We humans, and other apes, are actually in a minority of being two-legged, upright beings.

“As for aliens, there are two arguments – the first is they would look far different than our human minds could ever imagine.

“The second is that aliens look pretty much like us as the upright hominid figure, with hands that have a thumb like ours – the exact shape designed by Mother Nature that enables us to be the top of the food chain both here on Earth, and anywhere else ‘out there’ too.”

A spokesperson for BLAZE added: “We may never actually find out what aliens look like or proof that they exist, but it’s interesting to visualise based on the thoughts of the British public.

Extraterrestrial creatures have been a staple of sci-fi films, TV shows, and video games for decades which will have influenced our idea of what they look like.

UFO Week will encourage the nation to think about life on other planets and the possibility that one day we may come into contact with other lifeforms and UFOs.”

UFO Week airs on BLAZE from 8pm on Monday 25th March until Sunday 31st March.
BLAZE is on Freeview 64, Sky 164, Freesat 162, and Virgin Media 174.
