Overnight The Hollywood Reporter has broken an exclusive story which will have many fans worried. The trade is reporting that Warner Bros. has hired star Ezra Miller and comics writer Grant Morrison to work on the script for The Flash.
But there’s a twist.
It is said this move has been taken as a last ditch attempt to keep Miller in the role. THR understands that Miller is at odds with directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein over the tone of the movie.
Whilst Daley and Goldstein are said to be pushing the film towards a lighter tone, Miller continues to lean towards the darker take on the character seen in the Zack Snyder movies.
Miller is working with Morrison on his own version of the script and should WB pick it up he will stay on in the role. If the studio moves forward with Daley and Goldstein’s plans we may see a different actor taking on the role of Barry Allen.
Is there more trouble ahead for the long gestating movie?
