Some very interesting and potentially exciting news for Marvel fans overnight. Variety is reporting that actively developing several limited series based upon characters from the Marvel universe.
With Disney hard at work on its own in-house streaming service it was inevitable that new Marvel content would be on the way. With DC Universe paving the way for a company based service Disney can learn from Warner Bros. mistakes and improve on the formula.
It is rumoured these shows will have budgets to rival their big screen counterparts. Marvel is looking to put focus on characters who have yet to appear in solo movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.
Loki being a huge fan favourite character is an obvious choice for the company. With Tom Hiddleston set to reprise the role it could easily be a huge draw for fans who are on the fence regarding signing up to the Disney service.
Scarlett Witch remains a very interesting character. As yet she has only appeared in ensemble movies. Many fans have been calling for her to appear in her own movie so perhaps a limited series would help to serve the fans appetite for more!
