There was nothing short of furore when Robert Pattinson was reportedly cast as Batman a couple of weeks ago. Now we’re hearing that Matt Reeves The Batman may not have cast its Dark Knight just yet.
TheWrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez posted an update on Twitter late last night on where the studio is currently at with its search.
Robert Pattinson is still very much in the frame and is joined by Dark Phoenix star Nicholas Hoult. At this stage it is believed that both actors will be screen testing next week.
Perhaps the most exciting tidbit of new here is that both will be testing in costume. It makes sense that Warner Bros. would want to make sure they have the best man for the job both as Bruce Wayne and Batman.
All this means we may hear very soon as to just who will be playing Batman!
Gonzalez also updated that production is now scheduled to start in Q1 of 2020.
BATMAN UPDATE: Robert Pattinson & Nicholas Hoult are screen testing for the role. I suspect they're screen testing in the Batsuit because Wardrobe Department will need full wardrobe test. Additionally, the film will now start production in Q1 2020.🦇 pic.twitter.com/eekafrqomL
