With the release of Batman & Harley Quinn back in Summer we got our first look at the next DC Comics animated film… Batman: Gotham by Gaslight behind-the-scenes preview. Whilst fans anticipate Avengers: Infinity War which finally hits cinemas next May we have to remember there’s another Marvel movie to come first. Black Panther arrived in February and is shaping up to be a truly original entry to the MCU. Warner Bros. yesterday made the last minute decisions to move up the embargo on social media reactions to Justice League. As 5pm here in GMT rolled around we nervously sat and waited for the reactions to come in and it turned out they were, mostly, positive. Whilst several reporters pointed to a ‘fun but flawed’ movie it seems that Justice League has been on the whole well received. American ticket website Fandango has today released a new behind-the-scenes look at Justice League. Featuring some new shots from the film a well as a tonne of off camera action there’s a lot to see in the two-and-a-half minute featurette. The first trailer for the 2017 Arrow-verse crossover has been released. In an announcement which nobody saw coming Marvel royalty Brian Michael Bendis has left the company to take up a deal with DC Comics. Earlier today the DC Comics Twitter account exclusively announced that Bendis will be joining the company in the near future for a ‘multiyear, multi-faceted’ deal. Overnight The Wall Street Journal has posted a really interesting article on Justice League. The article ‘Can the ‘Justice League’ Keep Up With Offbeat Superheroes?’ looks at the production and release of the film but also the future of DC Films. On the production of the film the article notes that the appointment of John Berg and Geoff Johns to head the DC Films Unit was a direct consequence of the reception to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
