With Venom now in cinemas and earning big bucks at the box office, it’s time for Sony Picture to turn its attentions to the next “Spider-Verse” movie. Morbius: The Living Vampireis reportedly targeting a February 2019 production start according to CBR.com and Collider. When asked Sony producer Avi Arad revealed “More or less, February?” when asked about the movie. “Yeah, the plan is early part of next year,” fellow Sony producer Matt Tolmach added. “We’re still working on it.” So plans continue to move forward on the movie. Following news last night that James Gunn is in the frame to write and direct Suicide Squad 2 Dave Bautista has thrown his hat in the ring to get a role. Bautista is most famous to comic book fans for the role of Drax in both Guardians of the Galaxy movies as well as this years Avengers: Infinity War. Breaking news tonight: The Wrap has exclusively revealed that James Gunn is in talks with Warner Bros. to write and direct Suicide Squad 2. Gunn was unceremoniously fired by Disney earlier this year after comments made on Twitter years ago resurfaced in the press. At the time the Guardians of the Galaxy director was fiercely defended by colleagues and fans held hope the studio would overturn their decision. Actress Rebecca Romijn has shared a first look at her character – currently dubbed Number One – from Star Trek: Discovery season 2. Sharing the image on her instagram account the actress wrote “Going for the gold! What an honor. First look at Number One on #StarTrekDiscovery.” The role was originally seen in the unaired pilot for Star Trek back in 1966 played by Majel Barrett. Barrett went on to play Nurse Chapel in the series after the show was retooled before making it to air.
