Tickets are now officially on sale for Captain Marvel in North America. To celebrate the release Marvel Studios has released a new “Special Look” at the movie. This one-and-a-half-minute video is essentially a brand new trailer for the movie. Warner Bros. UK has announced that its bringing this years Reign of the Supermen animated movie to cinemas. Not only that but the movie will be screening in a one night only double bill with The Death of Superman. In 1996 writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale began one of Batman’s most famous tales. The Long Halloween has become a legendary entry in to the DC Comics pantheon and a new rumour suggests it will be receiving an animated adaption in the near future. Revenge of the Fans is reporting that DC and Warner Bros. animation are in the process of developing a two-part animated adaption for release in late 2019 or 2020. It’s just ten days to go until Star Trek: Discovery returns for its second season. Whilst the second season boasts an already impressive cast lead by Sonequa Martin-Green it will be adding some classic Trek characters to its roster. FOX has released promotional photos for the third episode of Gotham’s final season. Entitled “Penguin, Our Hero” the episode will focus on Oswald’s attempts to reclaim city hall and Selina’s search for revenge on Jeremiah. It seems that Selina is back on her feet already so we fully expect this week’s episode to feature some weird and wonderful action with her character leaving the hospital. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is prime advertising space in North America. We’ve already seen Marvel drop new footage for Captain Marvel during the ceremony but HBO also got in on the action. The premium cable network used the ceremony to debut the first footage from Game of Thrones finale season as well as teasing its Watchmen TV series. Watchmen shows off some teaser footage featuring Jeremy Irons as well as a first look at what appears to be Rorschach. Whilst Aquaman has been eating up the box office and headlines another movie has been quietly amassing an impressive haul. Sony Pictures Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has grossed over $275M worldwide. In it’s eighth weekend at the domestic box office the film grossed an estimated $13M for a domestic total of $133.8M. Whilst the international market begins to move on from Spidey it’s gross is currently sitting at $141.5M with only Japan left to open on March 8, 2019. Another weekend has come and gone and Aquaman remains king of the North American box office. For a third straight weekend James Wan’s epic undersea adventure has ruled the roost at the domestic box office. Falling roughly 41% from its second weekend Aquaman amassed another $30.7M. It’s domestic total is now estimated at $259.7M. According to Forbes the movie has now surpassed Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($259M in 2014), Batman ($251M in 1989) and Men in Black ($251M in 1997).
