There’s cause for celebration today as CBS has renewed Star Trek: Discovery for a third season. In announcing the news CBS confirmed that Michelle Paradise is being promoted to co-showrummer. Paradise has been working as an Executive Producer on the show since joining the team during the second season. It seems like production shaping up nicely for the Picard Star Trek spin-off. It has been revealed that Hanelle Culpepper will be helming the pilot for the new show. Deadline reports the director has been tapped as the first female director to helm a pilot in the Star Trek franchise. Culpepper previously helmed the episode “Vaulting Ambition” in the first season of Discovery and has also helmed an upcoming episode of season 2.
