Big news from DC Studios (courtesy of THR) tonight. Ahead of his DCU debut up Lanterns, it has been confirmed that Aaron Pierre (The Morning Show) is joining the cast of James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow.
Pierre will continue to play Green Lantern Corps member John Stewart, a role his will originate when Lanterns debuts globally on HBO Max in summer 2026. The announcement arrives alongside confirmation that several other Superman cast members are joining that film’s de-facto sequel.
As per THR, Man of Tomorrow brings back Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) and Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) among them. Heroes returning include Hawkgirl, played by Isabela Merced, and The Engineer, played by Maria Gabriella de Faria.
Production is due to start in Atlanta in April with David Corenswet back as the Man of Steel and Nicholas Hoult returning as Lex Luthor in a story that sees the two team up to fight the technological alien threat known as Brainiac, played by German actor Lars Eidinger.
Gunn wrote the script and is directing Man of Tomorrow, which is due to begin production this summer in Atlanta. The film is set to release in cinemas in July 2027.
