This incredible recognition comes as the franchise continues to grow, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing a third volume is in the works while much more is in development beyond the comics, including games, merchandise, and interest from Hollywood.

The celebrated creator went on to thank everyone at IDW, both past and present, who have supported him with this popular series. “This book has been such a gift to me. I have a whole other life I was living before this book! What’s wild is I’m in my 40s and I’m realizing this is what I should have been doing. Honestly, thank you so much. I really appreciate it.”
It was also revealed during New York Comic Con that the lead character Samantha Strong will make a surprise appearance in the blockbuster event DC K.O. in early 2026, along with other fan-favorite characters from various franchises outside of the DC Universe.
