The highly anticipated unique horror comedy short film The Blue Diamond, directed by Sam Fox, is now available exclusively on Canal+ to international audiences and will be featured in their broadcast series later this year. The film is also available to stream on Kanopy.
Starring the wickedly funny Desiree Staples as Alison and horror icon Barbara Crampton as her estranged mother, Jacqueline, The Blue Diamond offers a masterful mix of scares and humor.
Written by Sundance and SXSW 2025’s Addison Heimann (Touch Me), and based on a story by Sam Fox (Fck’n Nuts – Fantastic Fest, Open Wide – Fantasia Film Festival), the film unfolds in a cultish 1980s après-ski club where a grieving daughter seeks closure after her toxic mother’s death. However, as is often the case in 80s ski clubs, nothing is as it seems.
Produced by the dynamic team of Geenah Krisht and Desiree Staples, The Blue Diamond captivates audiences with its innovative storytelling. Distributed by Ouat Media, this release marks an exciting collaboration to bring the film to a wide and appreciative audience. The film is Executive Produced by Monique Charbonneau under DesiMo Productions.
Having made waves on the festival circuit in the US and internationally, the film recently showcased at Beyond Fest, Etheria Film Festival, L’Etrange Festival, The Future of Film is Female, Nightmares Film Festival, and won awards for best ensemble cast at Filmquest, most exceptionally weird and disturbing film at Portland Horror, Best of 2025 at MotelX and Final Girls Berlin, and won the Jury Award for Best Short Film at Grimmfest.
