Hammer Films has announced the next release in its hugely popular line of 4K remastered box sets. The latest film from the archives to receive the 4K treatment will be 1957’s The Curse of Frankenstein, with a new Limited Collector’s Edition due to release on October 13, 2025.

Each month, a new Hammer title rises from the crypt, newly restored in 4K, as part of an exclusive Limited Collector’s Edition range, carefully chosen from Hammer’s legendary archive and brought back to life by the British film studio. Fans eager to get their hands on The Curse of Frankenstein can sign up now at Hammer Films official site to gain early access.

Released in 1957, The Curse of Frankenstein was Hammer’s first colour horror, a bold, brutal reinvention of the Frankenstein story. This film was the first time Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee had performed together on screen, forming a legendary acting partnership. Cushing’s chilling Baron and Lee’s tragic Creature redefined the genre, launching a franchise and establishing Hammer’s signature gothic style that would change the face of horror filmmaking forever.

Watch a new trailer for the film in the player below:

Marking the film’s worldwide 4K UHD debut, this edition is a painstaking restoration from the best surviving elements, newly remastered for stunning picture quality with a brand-new 5.1 surround mix and original mono audio options.

The 6-disc set features the longest version of this classic gothic horror known to exist – including the notorious “eyeball” scene. The sixth disc is exclusive to this boxset. Combined with exclusive documentaries, expert commentaries, rare archival material, a feature length archive documentary, and deluxe printed extras, this is the definitive collector’s edition of a horror classic.
