Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime worldwide, and Aniplex of America announced today that the record-breaking anime tour-de-force Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train will return to UK  and Irish cinemas on May 14, 2025.

Distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the film will be shown in both Japanese with English subtitles as well as dubbed in English, with 4K available in select cinemas. Tickets for the will go on sale on April 30,2025.

Watch a new trailer for the film in the player below:

In our review of the film James says “If you love Demon Slayer then you have to watch Mugen Train. You’ll get the charm, warmth and hilarity that you know from the show but what really makes the film stand out is the final fight. I was not prepared for the devastation nor the overwhelming power of both the demons and the Demon Slayer Corps. I am desperate to rewatch the film but I can’t emphasise just how nice it was to enjoy Demon Slayer with a great crowd and on a massive screen where it belongs.”

Set after the events of the first season of the television series, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train sees Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke embark on a new mission. Together with one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, they investigate the mysterious disappearance of over 40 people aboard the Mugen Train.

Fans will have the chance to return to Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train next month before Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, the latest film in the franchise,  comes to cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 12th September, 2025. The first film of the three-part cinematic trilogy represents the final arc and culmination of the hugely popular award-winning anime shonen series.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train holds the record as the highest-grossing Japanese anime movie of all time and the highest-grossing Japanese film at the global box office, earning over 500 million USD to date. It also garnered a 98% critic score and 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- is available to watch on Crunchyroll now.
