Rakuten TV, one of Europe’s leading streaming platforms, has announced a new agreement with Mattel, the multinational toy manufacturing and entertainment company. This partnership will bring an exciting lineup of Mattel’s most iconic children’s series and movies across Europe, further enriching Rakuten TV’s diverse content offering for all ages. The content will be available on Rakuten TV’s Family channel, one of the Owned & Operated FAST channels that the platform offers for free. Additionally, it will be accessible on-demand as part of Rakuten TV’s expansive library of free content, ensuring viewers can enjoy it anytime, anywhere.

As part of the deal, Rakuten TV will offer a selection of beloved animated series and movies, featuring world-renowned brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, Monster High, and more. The partnership covers key European markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Nordics, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, and Portugal.

Marcos Milanez, Chief Content Officer at Rakuten TV, commented: “We are excited to partner with Mattel to bring their iconic brands to our European audiences through our AVOD and FAST channels. This collaboration enhances our commitment to providing a diverse range of high-quality, family-friendly content, ensuring viewers across the region can enjoy the best in entertainment, free of charge.”

In addition to the Mattel partnership, Rakuten TV is launching 3 new O&O (Owned and Operated) FAST channels to further expand its content offering. These new channels are available on the Rakuten TV app and on Samsung TV+ now.

As part of this expansion, viewers in Spain can now enjoy the new Sci-Fi channel, featuring a thrilling selection of futuristic films. Portugal will welcome the Top Movies channel, showcasing a curated lineup of the most popular and best-loved films. Meanwhile, the Romance channel, which has already captured the hearts of viewers in Sweden, is now available in Denmark, Finland, and Norway, offering a collection of heartwarming love stories and timeless classics. These channels are designed to bring high-quality, tailored entertainment to meet the diverse tastes of audiences in each market.

These channels reinforce Rakuten TV’s position as a leader in the FAST space, bringing diverse entertainment options to audiences across Europe.
