Studiocanal and partners Urban Myth Films, Millennium and G-Base, have announced that filming has begun on Apollo Has Fallen, the latest series in the ongoing Has Fallen franchise. Principal photography on the series will take place across the UK, Malta and Spain through spring and summer.
Expanding upon the Has Fallen cinematic universe (Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Angel Has Fallen), the series is a Studiocanal production with CANAL+, in partnership with Urban Myth Films, Millennium and G-BASE, with Producer Julian Murphy and Executive Producers Johnny Capps and Howard Overman for Urban Myth Films, M-K Kennedy & Paul Gilbert for Studiocanal, Gerard Butler & Alan Siegel for G-BASE, Avi Lerner, Jonathan Yunger & Yariv Lerner for Millennium.
The CANAL+ Creation Originale new, eight-episode season is once again written by series creator Howard Overman (War of The Worlds, Misfits). David Caffrey (The Gentlemen, The Alienist) is lead director, alongside Alice Troughton (Boat Story, Baghdad Central). The continues the high-octane ambition of Paris Has Fallen and Gerard Butler’s Has Fallen film franchise.
Returning to their roles are Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy, Polite Society) as fearless MI6 operative Zara Taylor, and Tewfik Jallab (Spiral, Dark Hearts) as former close protection officer Vincent Taleb. Their characters first appeared in Paris Has Fallen, which debuted in September 2024 on CANAL+ France to widespread critical and audience acclaim, and sold to 170+ territories worldwide, distributed by Studiocanal. The series boasted the third-biggest on-demand launch ever for a CANAL+ Creation Originale on CANAL+ App. Since then, it has premiered on multiple international platforms, topping Amazon UK’s charts, premiering to critical acclaim on Hulu in the USA, and in all CANAL+ PayTV territories to great success, most notably in Poland, ranking as the #1 non-Polish series on demand.
