Warner Bros. Games has announced that MultiVersus will be adding Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice to its growing roster of characters as part of Season 2: Back in Time. From the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim action-adventure animated series of the same name, the katana wielding Samurai Jack will be available when MultiVersus Season 2 launched on July 23. The troublesome ghost Beetlejuice (a.k.a. Betelgeuse) will arrive later in the season, in advance of the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice sequel to Beetlejuice (1988), only in theaters on Sept. 6 in North America and beginning Sept. 4 internationally.

After being flung into the future by the evil demon Aku, the warrior known as Samurai Jackembarked on a relentless quest to return to the past. With his unmatched swordsmanship and incredible agility, he’s truly a force to be reckoned with, and in the new MultiVersus gameplay trailer, Samurai Jack’s fighting skills as a Bruiser class character are on full display, which utilize his mystical katana blade, agile footwork, and quick reflexes to send opponents flying off the map. The video also provides a first look at the Righteous Warrior Jack character variant, which will be available for in-game purchase on July 23.

Check out the Samurai Jack reveal trailer below:

Additionally, Ranked mode will be added to MultiVersus at the start of Season 2 on July 23, giving players the opportunity to participate in 1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2 matches while competing for leaderboard points to earn exclusive rank-based cosmetic rewards. Season 2 will also include the Water Tower, a new map where players can battle on the iconic Warner Bros. Water Tower, with surprise nods to popular Warner Bros. Discovery characters and franchises.

Developed by Player First Games, MultiVersus is available now as a free download for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), with full cross-play and cross-progression support.

The free-to-play platform fighter features an ever-expanding roster of popular characters based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises. The current roster of characters include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Black Adam, and The Joker (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz, and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, and Banana Guard (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick and Morty); Gizmo and Stripe (Gremlins); Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th); Agent Smith (The Matrix); Samurai Jack (Samurai Jack); Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice); and an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.
