Time to check out this week’s UK Official Film Chart as Warner Bros. Pictures’ Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire smashes in at number one.
The Adam Wingard directed film makes a chart-topping debut, following in the very large footsteps of its predecessor, Godzilla vs Kong, which spent four weeks at the top in 2021. In The New Empire, the two ancient titans clash with a colossal deadly threat hidden within our world, threatening the existence of all species.
As a result of Godzilla x Kong’s success this week, Dune: Part Two is pushed down to Number 2, while coming in close behind after flying 13 places this week is comedy crime-drama Wicked Little Letters, which enjoys a brand-new peak at Number 3.
More titles are flying back into the Top 10 this week, with former chart-toppers Anyone But You (4) and Barbie (5) both up seven places week-on-week.
Beloved animated sequel King Fu Panda 4 drops to Number 6, Migration is down three to Number 7, and origin story Wonka bounces back up one to Number 8.
Adventuring up nine this week is The Super Mario Bros. Movie (9), while The Equalizer 3 (10) rounds out the Top 10 after dropping three places.
