This week rumours have been swirling that a first trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was imminent. After a very brief leak on TikTok we’re still waiting for that footage to officially surface. But in the meantime EW has released two first look images from the Warner Bros. Pictures film, teasing several key details for the long-awaited sequel.
In an exclusive chat with returning director Tim Burton EW was able to learn that The Leftovers star Justin Theroux will be playing a character known as Rory. Burton wouldn’t say any more about the mysterious character. Could he be the father of Jenna Ortega’s Astrid Deetz?
Speaking of seeing Keaton back in the classic makeup Burton says “He just got back into it. It was kind of scary for somebody who was maybe not that overly interested in doing it. It was such a beautiful thing for me to see all the cast, but he, sort of like demon possession, just went right back into it.”

Alongside Keaton will be the returning Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. Joining them will be Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter Astrid, Monica Bellucci as Betelgeuse’s wife, Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice comes to UK cinemas on September 6, 2024.
