It’s time to bring out the chimichangas, because we’re here to celebrate. After facing multiple delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike, filming has officially wrapped on Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds, who has played the Merc with a mouth since 2016, took to social media to share the news.
In his own post, Wolverine’s Hugh Jackman also shared the good news, alongside images of his iconic mutton chops being shaven away- The Wolverine is no more.
“What a ride!!! I’ve loved every minute of making this movie. Well not the training and diet but the other 93.2%. To the best cast and crew, thank you! You are all aces. To two of my best mates @VancityReynolds and @ShawnLevyDirect I literally couldn’t have done this without you. Literally! July 26th can’t come soon enough. Time to shave.“
It is also worth noting that Dogpool also wrapped filming. The leathered-up pooch gave a big bow-wow-WOW to the entire cast and crew, but also teased a bit of tension on set… Who could have upset Dogpool? (Our guess would be Ryan.)
Originally, Deadpool 3 was scheduled to be released on May 3rd, 2024 but was delayed amid the strikes. Deadpool and Wolverine will now return to the big screen on July 26th. Apart from a handful of leaks, we haven’t actually seen any footage yet, however, rumors seem to suggest that the first teaser will appear at this year’s Super Bowl on Sunday, 11th February.
