It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time to check out this week’s UK Official Film Chart as Oppenheimer scores itself a festive number one, beating tough competition from classic holiday film Love Actually.
2023’s Christopher Nolan blockbuster finishes just 2,700 sales in front of the British noughties classic which finishes at Number 2. Love Actually does get to claim the title of biggest digital download of the week, however.
Close behind at Number 3 is The Equaliser 3, lifting two places back to its previous peak. Former Number 1 Elf continues to hold strong at Number 4 for another week, landing just ahead of the return of Expend4bles at Number 5.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny tumbles four places (6) followed closely by our highest new entry of the week, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (7). The PAW Patrol pups are transformed into The Mighty Pups – a team of superheroes – after a magical meteor crash lands in adventure city giving them superpowers.
Rounding out the Top 10 are two more festive (though rather different!) films, The Polar Express (8) and Violent Night (9) with Michael Caine film The Great Escaper rounding out the countdown at Number 10.
