It has been a hectic winter for Godzilla fans around the world. Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is almost halfway through its first season, Toho’s Godzilla Minus One has officially been released in the US and is set to be unleashed here in the UK in just a matter of weeks, and now CCXP 2023 have been teasing a reveal of their own. That’s right, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has arrived in São Paulo for an epic weekend full of reveals and trailers.
To get eager fans ready for whatever this weekend may bring, hopefully a new trailer, we received our first wave of character posters for the next installment in the MonsterVerse franchise. While simplistic in their design, these new posters give us our best look at the new Kaiju who threatens to claim the title of King. Currently known as The Skar King, this new primate has a much leaner build and may actually resemble a Orangutan, rather than a giant ape.
Not much is known about this new villain, but it has been rumored that this particular primate has the ability to control one of the first ever Titans to roam the earth. This Titan is currentaly known as Shimu, and it appears as though it’ll have ice-based powers. For those who played the Call of Duty MonsterVerse event, a cave painting actually revealed Shimu. Whether this is all true or not remains to be seen, but with a potential trailer looming we could have our answers very soon.
Check out the new posters below:
