Justice League Vs Godzilla Vs Kong #2 is published by DC Comics, written by Brian Buccellato and illustrated by Drew Johnson and Christian Duce.

Issue #2 is available 21st November 2023 either directly from DC Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Legendary’s Monsterverse has been unleashed on the DC Universe, and cities are threatened across the globe!

From Metropolis to Gotham City to Themyscira, the Justice League scrambles to protect the citizens from these raging titans!

What role has the Legion of Doom played in all this monster madness, and how will the tide of battle change… when a hero falls?!

    Review

Issue #2 sees the return of this colossal battle between iconic comic names that are deep in the midst of an epic scale battle of which this multiverse has never seen before. Monsters of colossal size have appeared in different part of the DC universe, Metropolis, Gotham and Themyscira are all getting battered by these larger than life enemies that they have never come across, the heroes we once could count on are struggling to protect against these formidable foes.

The Justice League normally has the combined strength to take down any evil doer that crosses their paths but this is different, each one is beyond the threat they have previously come across and even Superman is having little to no effect. The Legion of Doom seem to have got their grubby mitts in control of the events unfolding but it’s not yet clear how deep their involvement actually is, one person who could shed some light on the mystery is Toyman but getting hold of him certainly won’t be straight forward.

I’ve always enjoyed the different stories from the DC stable but this series combines iconic characters together in one explosive comic. Thanks to the writing from Brian Buccellato bringing together some of my favourite action characters, normally the Justice League and the Legion of Doom have the most monumental fights but add to that the colossal figures of Godzilla and Kong and you have an event that can just about be contained within the pages.

The comic allows all the characters to all get involved in the story without over shadowing the others allowing the story to gather it’s natural pace.

Drew Johnson and Christian Duce bring together their artistic talents to create a colourful explosion that will definitely blow your mind. The battle scenes in this comic are some of the best I’ve seen and the battle between Superman and Godzilla is the battle we’ve all been waiting for.

    Verdict

A colossal combination that you will never knew you wanted but you really do. A strong storyline that keeps you focused on every page, eye popping visuals creates a comic that simply can’t be missed.
