The Hollywood strikes are over. The Screen Actors Guild has finally come to an agreement with the studios which should see actors getting back to work over the coming weeks. But in the wake of the announcement and with content running thin, studios are currently looking at how best to tackle the months ahead.
Marvel Studios has made the difficult decision to shift a number of projects out of 2024. In fact at this stage the only MCU movie to now release in 2024 will be Deadpool 3. Originally due for release in May, the Shawn Levy directed film will now drop in cinemas on July 26, 2024. Bang in the middle of San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
Elsewhere Captain America: Brave New World has completely vacated 2024. Anthony Mackie’s first headliner was due to release in Deadpool‘s new July slot. Instead Brave New World will new release on February 14, 2025. That will be followed by Blade which moves from February 14 to November 7, 2025. That gives plenty of time for director Yann Demange plenty of time to work on his R-rated project.
Finally, Jake Schreier‘s Thudnerbolts vacates December 20, 2024 and moves to July 25, 2025. Cameras are yet to roll on the ambitious project which boasts Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty currently sits on May 1, 2026; and Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
