    Review

In this issue the intense battle for Earth is hitting up in more ways than one, Planet Eaters are the main threat to the Scorched but an ancient virus has been released from its permafrost and is taking hold of all in it’s path. Normally the Scorched have a power that is unmatched but this virus is of a different level and wants to take over. Necro and Love thought they could almost weaponise this virus to their own benefit however now the virus is lose it is it’s own beast, She-Spawn and Love who are normally the strongest beings around are struck by the virus and are struggling to hold it at bay, Monolith enters the battle to step in as a leader to hold this threat a bay but in the back of his mind he knows this is wasting precious time as the Planet Eaters are pushing ahead with their plans for domination they must be stopped, but can they be? Is this the end for the Scorched as we know it? One thing is for sure that nothing will be the same again.

From the first issue I have enjoyed the progression of the Scorched story, I have enjoyed following the growth of the individual characters as they come together to form the comic powerhouse but in the last few issues Sean Lewis has taken the story arc up a level as the Scorched go up against the biggest threat they have seen, this makes for the most intense reading you can have in comic a type of story that you read in one hit, nothing else in the world matters at this point all you need to do is finish this book, incredibly written with a storyline that simply blew my mind something huge is coming and I really can’t wait to see what is to come with huge characters such as Monolith getting more page space this story arc has hit epic levels.

Those of you who have read my reviews before you’ll know that I feel that the artwork from the Spawn universe is some of the best in comics but the as artwork from Stephen Segovia in this book takes that level and smashes straight through it, I was mesmerized as Stephen takes you straight into the heart of this epic battle , each panel creates more intensity within the arc. The battle between the virus and the Scorched just looks amazing as the terror and pain is out into the forefront, definitely some of the best work I have seen from Stephen.

    Verdict

I just can’t say a bad word about this book, definitely one of the best books to come out of the Spawn world. This series is definitely one of my favourite in comics at the minute and with the events unfolding it looks set to get even better and I can’t wait.
