The upcoming animated Transformers prequel film, directed by Toy Story 4‘s Josh Cooley, finally has an official title. But that wasn’t the only news we received. We also discovered who will be voicing the various Transformers, and we don’t think anyone was prepared for such a star-studded cast- it truly is mindblowing. Transformers One will be heading to the big screen on July 19th, 2024.

Journeying to Cybertron to explore the origins of the rivalry between the Autobots and Decepticons is Chris Hemsworth who will be voicing Optimus Prime. Since Optimus’ origin revolves around him joining the Primes, we could say that Hemsworth will be voicing Orion Pax. Bullet Train‘s Brian Tyree Henry will be voicing Megatron, previously known as Megatronus during his career in the fighting pits of Kaon. Scarlett Johansson will voice Elita, Keegan-Michael Key will play Bumblebee, John Hamm will voice the great Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne will bring Alpha Trion to life.

“I’m so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated ‘Transformers’ movie to theaters for a never-before-told story,” said Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, who announced the cast at CinemaCon.

“I’m honored to have such incredible talents come together to portray these well-known and much-loved characters in an origin story at the heart of the franchise.” Naito added.

Steven Spielberg will serve as the executive producer of Transformers One along with Brian Goldner, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer and Valerii An. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian and Aaron Dem will be producing Transformers One.
