Sony Pictures have released a first look at the third and final installment in The Equalizer franchise which sees Denzel Washington act as both guardian angel and brutal executioner. The Equalizer 3 will be heading to cinemas in the UK on September 1st, 2023.
While we are absolutely thrilled to see our favourite non-caped vigilante back to deliver some well-needed justice, we’re also excited to see Denzel reunite with Man on Fire co-star Dakota Fanning, who was 9 years old when she appeared alongside Washington in Tony Scott’s 2004 thriller.
Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace is serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.

The Equalizer 3 will arrive on the big screen on September 1st, 2023. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who helmed the first two installments, and written by Richard Wenk. The final film stars Denzel Washingston as Robert McCall, Dakota Fanning, David Denman, Sonia Ben Ammar and Remo Girone.
