Skybound, alongside Image Comics, has revealed a stunning set of all-new The Walking Dead Deluxe connecting variant covers from acclaimed artist Stephanie Hans (Die). Kicking off the next arc of the landmark comic series, Hans’ covers showcase iconic scenes from the series in the background amidst a connecting foreground of a singular walker body to create a one-of-a-kind haunting art piece.
These all-new covers will appear as variants to The Walking Dead Deluxe #61-66, with each issue presenting the series in full color format for the first time from writer/creator Robert Kirkman, with art by Charlie Adlard and colors by Dave McCaig. Fans will also receive a new look at the worldwide pop culture phenomenon with pinups and exclusive “Cutting Room Floor” commentary by Kirkman, celebrating the secret history of the series.
“Stephanie came up with this awesome idea for a cover set right off the bat, and I knew from the start it would be really special, but I didn’t imagine how beautiful and haunting the final piece would be,” said Amanda LaFranco, Editor, Skybound Entertainment. “These connecting six covers capture just about every emotion The Walking Dead is known for evoking and Stephanie does an incredible job capturing the tension and chilling atmosphere of this iconic, “Fear the Hunters” storyline.”
The Walking Dead Deluxe #61 will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
