Bloodborne: The Lady of The Lanterns #4 is published by Titan Comics, written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Piotr Kowalski.

Issue #4 is available 8th February 2023 either directly from Titan Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Enter the City of Yharnam through the eyes of its citizens, when the new hunters take to the streets to fight against the cruel and unusual epidemic that has gripped the city. In the black of the night, families and faith will be tested…

    Review

In the finale issue of this story arc we delve deeper into the darkened world of Yharnam narrated through the eyes of young Lucien, his father and sister Vivian have been taken by the cruelly dark force that sweeping through the town taking all that in it’s path. Now an orphan he scours the street looking for a trace of this dark spirit and exact his revenge.

The Hunters are in full force trying to rid this town of it’s curse but it’s a job that is punishing to say the least both physically and mentally, are they up to the job?

This story arc once again shows off the incredible talents of Cullen Bunn, this is the second series I have read of his and no one writes a horror that’s more ingrossing than he does. Yes the stories are graphic but not just for the fun of it it purely makes the story flow, the way he builds each character is great you really feel a connection to them as you move along the story, I definitely can’t wait to see more from Cullen in the near future.

The illustrations of this book needed to be strong and Piotr Kowalski most definitely brings a unique artistic strength to the book that not only highlights the story they enhance it and give it more depth. Piotr perfectly captures the level of graphic content the story needed to give it that edge and make the story feel raw but always interesting for the reader.

    Verdict

Cullen Bunn has once again shown why he is one of the best in the comic business, an incredible story that has me hooked from the start, if you are a fan of the Bloodborne games then you will definitely enjoy this series
