Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson are household names to millions around the world thanks to the longest-running scripted primetime television series of all time – The Simpsons. Now, Amazon Freevee is exploring the stories behind the legend in a new six-part documentary series.
Icons Unearthed: The Simpsons highlights who and what has kept this beloved series rolling for so long, unpacking backstage stories, legal and creative disputes, production changes, and the continual comedy gold that has made this series the ultimate animation juggernaut.

The series will feature exclusive interviews with various directors, actors, writers, and network executives, including Bill Oakley, Rich Moore, Jon Vitti, Mimi Pond, Doug Benson, Todd McFarlane, Garth Ancier, Phil Roman and Jennifer Howell. Each will delve into previously unknown and surprising details about the animated show.
All six episodes of Icons Unearthed: The Simpsons will be available to stream exclusively in the UK on Amazon Freevee, from Friday 13th January.
