Time for another preview for next week’s books from DC, this time we’re taking a look at the return of a legendary Green Lantern. From the mind of writer Geoffrey Thorne, John Stewart: The Emerald Knight #1 finds the classic hero returning from the deepest reaches of the galaxy to take on the forces of Esak.
The debut issue features art by Marco Santucci, colours by Michael Atiyeh and letters by Rob Leigh. The main cover art is by Mateus Manhinini with variant covers by Caanan White & Chris Sotomayor and a 1:25 variant by Jay Hero. Here’s a sneaky peek at the cover gallery:
The books synopsis teases the titular character’s return from the darkest corners of the universe:
John Stewart has been trapped in the dark sectors for months with the rest of his Green Lantern comrades. With the power of the godstorm at his disposal, John’s using everything he can to take down Esak, the mad New God, and bring his fellow Corpsmen home. John will need to become something new to win the war against Esak: he’ll need to become the Emerald Knight!
