Review
In this issue we follow the darkened path of Spawn as he endeavours to reach his goal of sitting upon Hell’s throne. From the last issue we saw that Spawn had a clever plan of sending his new found allies to hell to take on the fight rather than take it all on himself. One of Hell’s inhabitants is not happy with the intrusion of Spawn and his allies and that being is Brimstone, probably not the best person to get angry and he is more determined than ever to get his hands on Spawn.
We see another side to Spawn as he takes on his human form Al as he visits Terry Fitzgerald in a last gasp plea to unearth the emotional answers that Spawn longs for but at what cost?
As we are rapidly approaching the finale of thos epic story Sean Lewis has pulled out all the stops making sure the reader is presented with one of the most gripping stories in comic at the moment and probably of the year, each issue that passes adds more depth to the overall story and not just this issue but the entire arc which in turn could well impact the multiverse as a whole.
There is seriously no stopping this creative team, Javi Fernandez is an incredibly talented individual and you can tell that love was poured in as each page is full of the full on action packed with each dark detail captured highlighting the story in the best possible way giving the reader the authentic Spawn experience.
Verdict
For me King Spawn is rapidly becoming not only my favourite Spawn comic but I’d go as far as saying my favourite comic full stop, to carry on such an iconic character and develope it with strength and unique freshness proves the talent of the creative team involved.
