This week DC Comics releases the first issue of its The Riddler: Year One series. To celebrate the landmark first issue, DC has released a new trailer featuring two very familiar faces.
Who better to write this new portrait of one of Batman’s most legendary villains than actor Paul Dano? Dano’s performance as The Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman turned comic book and movie fans’ perception of The Riddler completely upside down, portraying a haunting and intense character that was every bit the match for Batman in terms of will power, intelligence and sheer drive.
Just in time for the launch of the six issue limited series, DC has released a DC Comic Trailer previewing the series, with commentary from Dano and Reeves about the origins of the series spinning out of the film, how Dano prepared to expand the background and history behind Edward Nashton, and his hand selection of Serbian artist Stevan Subic for the series, who makes his DC and U.S. debut with this series.
The Riddler: Year One #1 is available now in print and on digital where all good comics are sold.
