Gunslinger Spawn #11 is published by Image Comics, written by Todd McFarlane and illustrated by Brett Booth.

Issue #11 is available from 24th August 2022 either directly from Image Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Gunslinger’s realization that his enemies have ended up in the future alongside him sets him on a new path. The HUNT is on, and he is bringing HELL with him!

    Review

In this issue we catch up with Gunslinger as he is waiting Jessica’s return so he can move forward with his plans for revenge, but something far bigger than Gunslinger has ever faced is lurking in the shadows rapidly catching up with him in the hulking shape of The Villain. Gunslinger touches base with Taylor in the hope that he can lead him to the ones he wants but is the need for vengence leaving Gunslinger distracted and open to threats, it certainly seems that way. Gunslinger has always managed to come out on top from most fights but this fight is next level and could well prove a tough test.

As soon as I see the name Todd McFarlane as writer of a Spawn book you just know that you’re going to enjoy the ride and that’s exactly what happened, Todd’s writing is raw and full of passion you can tell that after all these years he still loves telling Spawn stories as his love flows through the words. As much as I will say I’m a big Spawn fan I do like the rawness of the Gunslinger series, it’s bloody passion hits all the right notes and captivates me each time as I turn the pages, you always get the feeling that something big is about to happen in the series and I have a feeling we’re in for a treat in the next issue.

Once again Brett Booth takes control of the art with some epic level illustrations that give you a full blast suckerpunch to the face, it’s graphic but in a way that creates a genuine raw feeling to the story, one of his best works to date and also special mention needs to go to Puppeteer Lee in creating another jaw dropping cover art (shown above).

    Verdict

Another 5⭐️ book from one of the best comic writers, this series keeps getting better a must read for Spawn fans.
