One Punch Man is officially returning for a third season. That’s right, Saitama will be back on our screens for more one-punching action. Honestly, we’re surprised. It has been an odd time for One Punch Man fans lately. Yusuke Murata’s manga has been incredibly strong with a 7 year long arc coming to an end with shocking revelations and insane battles. On the flip side, season two of One Punch Man was arguably one of the most divisive shows in recent years. With the first season being such a hit, fans were devastated by the sudden decline in animation for season two. Purely based on the overall response to the second season, it felt as though One Punch Man‘s time in the anime limelight was over… Apparently, not.
Saitama will be back, however details are incredibly scarce right now. With the announcement being so fresh, we probably won’t hear anything major for quite some time. As of right now, we don’t even have a release date. But an announcement is a huge victory, and hopefully a positive step in the right direction to restore the show’s fanbase.

The first season of One Punch Man was produced by Studios Madhouse who absolutely smashed it. Season two was then passed over to J.C. Staff with… Let’s call it mixed results, and it’s currently unclear who will be handling season three. Hopefully that’ll be something that is announced soon. For now, all we can do is wait and ponder.
